It forms the Itanhaém
River along with the Black River, even though its waters
have an incredible transparency.
Its source is located in the Valley of the White River,
amongst the Heights of the Sea Mountain Range, what
makes its waters go down the mountains at an incredible
speed when it rains. Among its tributary streams we find
the rivers Mambú, Indaiatuba and
Rio Acima.
It makes an
unforgettable spectacle as its waters encounter those
ones from the Aguapeú River, similarly a that phenomenon
that happens in the Amazon, called Pororoca.
